Ribbon to connector

Postby ADSRLFO » 16 Feb 2019, 18:26

As i open the NS3 to clean contacts (a lot of times...for all my Nords  ) the ribbon to the mother board is very short and hard to reconnect..
a few centimeters more would be nice ...

The Stage 3 has been available for only 18 months...! What the hell are you doing that it requires cleaning the contacts already?

I’ve played maybe two hundred shows with my Electro 2, and it’s fourteen years old, and I’ve never once had to clean the key contacts...!

Having had my NS3 compact from day one, i had to open it up and re-lubricate all squeaky Sharps, so the high chance of bad quality of shitty Fatar parts might be a case.

As a piano technician i can say there is nothing wrong with those notes played.
Even in real pianos with pedal depressed you hear the unison beats with sympathetic resonance of higher strings.

Hello to all,

I am happy that I found this great forum. I am new to NORD, my NS3C baby is three days old. I read a lot in this forum and found in this topic (List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs) also COPY/PASTE problem in OS2.0. I have OS2.02 and following issue:

I am copying a Program 1 to Program 5 with
1. holding MONITOR/COPY PANEL and pressing the Program 1 button (display: COPY TO CLIPBOARD)
2. holding SHIFT and pressing the MONITOR/COPY PANEL together with Program 5 button (display: PASTE FROM CLIPBOARD)

Result:
The Program 1 is not copyied to Program 5.

After pressing STORE button twice the Program 1 was copyied to Program 5 but without it's name.
This is not mentioned in User Manual and also the there is not an advice e.g. blinking STORE Led that an additional action is missing/necessary.....

Do you have also this issue?

[EDIT]: Now I see that there is a small symbol 'E' on the display when a Program was changed end not saved, so I am taking this point back. It remains that it is not mentioned in the actual User Manual (ver 1.6x).

Working with the Sound Manager ver.7.42 and NS3C ver. 2.02, I see that the Organs are not correctly displayed in the Manager Info pane on right side:

The Pianos and Synth sounds are displayed correctly.

Is this an intention?

Oooh, again the Sound Manager now regarding linking a Song to Program:
After linking in the SM, the NS3 doesn't take the change over.

Only when on the NS3 I select an other Song and then I select back the linked song then I see the change and hear the linked sound.

Flickering of the whole panel which resets both panels to previous stored version with all changes discarded. It started happening when I was trying to activate the ping pong parameter for the delay on both panels for the synth section. Now it happens once every few seconds but only for this program.

This is supposed to be a list of KNOWN (i.e. confirmed) bugs in the NS3. This is not supposed to be a list of things you think are bugs, or things that don't deal with the NS3 specifically. Please open a topic if you have an issue that you think might be a bug. Please open a separate conversation for issues relating to the sound manager's internal behaviour.

W.R.T. paul42's comment above about linking a song to a program, I believe this is to be expected - you have to trigger the NS3 to reload the active song before it picks up changes, if you've edited the song that's currently in memory, and not a bug per se. Perhaps you don't like this behaviour, but it's quite common in many programmers to not reload the current context until forced to do so - e.g. by double clicking a new sound or by going up and then back to the loaded preset. So, until we have official confirmation that it is not supposed to act like this, let's hold off on calling it a "known bug".

Hi all

Can some one explain to me what happens with the bug fix spreadsheet ?

I see a number of posts related to total loss of sound with the ns3 compact, as well as it being a major item on the spreadsheet.

I am suffering the same problem. Is it clear whether this is a hardware or software issue. It is not a ‘dirty ‘ potentiometer as has been suggested.

Thanks all
Tom
