Leslie switches automatically from slow to fast and back

Postby Tomtom1983 » 14 May 2018, 18:43

Last weekend the stage were I played with my band had some vibrations from the bass. So during louder drum parts the leslie rotor switched automatically from "slow" to "fast" and back again. I can´t imagine that the switch inside is so sensitive. Had anybody the same problem already?
I´m starting to worry about my NS3 compact. At first problems with with the wheel and now with the leslie. I think I have no choice and I have to send it back to the shop where I bought it and ask for replacement.

That's unusual!

Do you have the leslie sim morphed to aftertouch or mod wheel?

No, it isn´t morphed anyway. That was the first solution I was looking for...

Sounds weird. Just to rule out another unlikely thing: You don't by incidence have the sustain pedal set to also control the rotary speed? If so, then a somewhat "shaky" sustain pedal could also be the culprit...

I suppose if its not too much trouble maybe take it back to the retailer to get it checked out, my NS3 Compact is behaving marvelous so far and I tend to play a little rough when i get excited, that said my Nord is on a shaky 3 tier keyboard stand too.

But as said by others, verify you don't have any controllers or aftertouch linked to the rotary, I made that mistake once when I realized that once that I was resetting it when I played a little hard on the key bed.

Hope you find the issue!

I also wrote some mails with the nord service center and they think it´s the same issue as my problem with the wheel. Both problems are known by nord. Allegedly there were a limited number of early Stage 3 compact models wich require a fix and they think both problems should be solved with this one fix. I just packed it this minute and I will bring it to the post shop now and I hope my problems will be settled with this. I will let you know ;-)

I got my NS3 compact back within 1 week. That was really fast and both problems are solved, now.
The sound service modified it by information from Clavia. So it was definitely a hardware problem!
Now I can enjoy the stage without bugs :-)
