key not velocity sensitive anymore

Post by Ronnybonny »

Whenever i play a specific note, the key plays the maximum volume of that note. I took the keyboard apart and cleaned all the keys, but it still happens that the specific key is always on maximum velocity.
Playing nice and softly........PING....how do i fix this?

Anyone has any ideas?

Much appreciated.

Hi Ronny,

haven‘t you been the one who disassembled the whole keybed to clean or repair it? Was it for this reason with the one key? Does it then mean no success? I would feel sorry for you in this case. Seems as if the top contact of this specific key is faulty or rotten. There are usually two contacts per key in these beds to ensure velocity sensitivity. I‘m not a technician but have in mind that the contacts can be replaced in a 12 keys block or so. The same link I gave you regarding the keys should also help you find the right contact strip. If not, let me know. Cheers and good luck. Stay healthy everybody

Thanks!
Yes, that's me :)
I will look at your othr post. The keyboard fell over during a performance and landed on that key. (during soundcheck haha) So i guess that's possible

Hey! Could someone share that link in this thread? I'm having the same issue with my Nord Stage 3 Compact and would love the link to find the correct contact strip replacement. Thanks!
