Re: Inverted phase out 3&4 NS4ha88 ??
Yes my stereo monitoring needs to be inverted to be in phase to the pa. It is most noticeable in the rehearsal room with a small PA. I have installed a digital EQ (SA EQ2) internally in the NS3 and tried to solve the problem with the phase. The HP amp taps directly from the OP of Out 1, 2 and inverts itself. An additional intermediate amplifier would be necessary to get this in phase, and in any case it cannot be corrected via FW update.

Interesting, I wonder why they did this or it was just a design overlookLumserei wrote:The HP amp taps directly from the OP of Out 1, 2 and inverts itself. An additional intermediate amplifier would be necessary to get this in phase, and in any case it cannot be corrected via FW update.

Re: Inverted phase out 3&4 NS4ha88 ??
The HP Amp is buffered with discrete transistors to improve the sound quality and damping factor/output impedance -> this type of circuit inverts the output signal unless additional amplifiers are used, which could degrade the sound again ... I would consider it as design (overlook).
With headphones connected as intended, nobody notices. At the moment I'm using 2 JBL Eon One Compact, which also invert the signal so it's right again.

Yes, if you use the HP output just for headphones (as it is intended) the phase inversion of both channels as no practical effect, so I guess that is why the design was made as you described and the phase inversion was not considered a problem by the designer (so no overlook, just a choice based on the intended purpose)Lumserei wrote:The HP Amp is buffered with discrete transistors to improve the sound quality and damping factor/output impedance -> this type of circuit inverts the output signal unless additional amplifiers are used, which could degrade the sound again ...
