I had Stage 3 88 with the big case with wheels and now I have Stage 4 73 HA with the case for Electro HP. The size difference is very significant, weight difference is less significant but still significant. And I can say it's so much easier to carry it around and handle it (I live on the 4th floor with no elevator...). I also wanted the hammer action and it's very similar to the stage 3 88, not exactly the same and I'm not actually sure which one I like better, but now I've played the Stage 4 for some time and got used to it and really like it now.

As I said in a previous post, it feels like the right thing to do is sell my Stage 3 88 and buy a Stage 4 73. Mican's post above makes me think even more that is a good decision. And then if I feel like I need the extra keys and better action, I can get something like the Numa X Piano GT with the acclaimed TP400w that can sit in my attic and never move. Although I have read some posts that indicate that external controllers don't necessarily play well with the Nord Stage. So that's a complication. Ugh. Not an easy decision. All I know is, I want to be able to grab my Nord and be on the go with it. Right now, there's great hesitation in moving it due to the size and weight. And I'm on vacation this week without it, and really wishing I had it!

If I only bring one board, then I’m bringing the 88 stage 3 and in some songs I’ll need 4 splits.
You run out of keys fast, I can’t really imagine doing the same on a 76.
