Solved: Missing sound in some patches NS4 88
Hello,
just received my new Nord Stage 4 88 today,
and unfortunately the output sound to all 1 2 3 4 outputs are missing on some patches, just the effect section bleed can be heard on some of them.
The patches are (there are more, but I take the first ones here):
B22 Soft Mk 1
B32 Blues Amp Mk1
A32 70s Phase Mk 1
A12 Bright Vibe Mk 1
A42 Bubbles Mk 1
A55 Texas Nights J3
A62 Classic Wah Clav
A68 Acoustic Guitar
A72 Silverface Mk 1
A75 Filter Bank Ld
Do someone see a system here? I cant.
The headphone output works fine (afaik) on all these.
And yes, have updated to latest OS v 1.14 and tried all the usual tricks of the game.
Regards,
Snorre

Already checked of course... all programs have the same output routing.

(Tempted to write in Norwegian
) What if you save one of the corrupted programs to another location, and vice versa save a functional program to one of the corrupted locations?

Hehe...jeg også
After swap, the program itself is corrupted and not the spot! What could that mean?

Re: HELP - Missing sound in some patches NS4 88
Seems like the electric, clav and the digital piano of those 6 piano slots are missing output.
This is in WHOLE Nord Stage.
There is also a very high peak noise, like pistol shot coming out the outputs when changing program to that associated with the corrupt program. AND the analog section of the synth is the one not sounding to output.
Seems like storing the corrupt program to another number is not solving the problem either.

Next step is to swap the corrupted sample-versions with new versions.
You are probably aware of it but anyway, here they are: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-lib ... no-library

Re: HELP - Missing sound in some patches NS4 88
Ok, now I think I know what is going on. Let me summarize:
Output 12 and 34 is not working for pianos selected Electric, Clav or Digital, or analog synth mode.
It is working for 1, 2, 3, 4 and headphones, just not for 12 or 34, which is the normal stereo out.
I suspect hardware fault, and will kindly ask my music store to let me return it and get a new one.
I received the NS4 today. I was so looking forward to play and enjoy it, now I have to wait another week for the new one to arrive.
Thanks for your kind help anyway!
See you around
Regards,
Snorre

Re: HELP - Missing sound in some patches NS4 88
Just one more question: What are you using as amplification? Are you summing the 2 outputs to mono? What if you only connect one output? There might be phase cancellation.

This may seem to solve it… My PA was summing to mono without me noticing…
