C2 Models in Stage...

Postby TomS » 15 Apr 2011, 05:07

Hi everyone. Is there a pronounced difference in the "clean" and "battered" models? I love a "well-used" sound in a Hammond. Is the "battered" model THAT different? Or is it just more "hissy" ? Thanx. Tom Nord stuff rules.

I've heard both of my hammonds (proper ones) through headphones, one was a dirty old white cap and the other was a cheesy red cap. They were both very similar to the bog standard stage (non c1 or c2) sound with no effects. It was the leslie with all the clicking, popping, hum and crackling. The crosstalk was a bit more pronounced on the white cap and there was a bit of crosstalk, however, it wasn't really noticable unless you held down a dodgy note and listened carefully to it. I'm interested in your answer and I'm sure the C1/C2 are better when you run it through a transistor leslie (which makes a load of sense).
