Battery power Nord Stage EX?

Postby normalkeyboa » 31 Aug 2018, 03:07

I have need to run Nord Stage off a battery, anyone know if something like this would work? [https://smile.amazon.com/Portable-iFORWAY-41600mAh-External-Cellphone/dp/B07F1KTZ89/ref=cm_wl_huc_item]

I can't seem to find power draw specification for the Nord EX.

Thanks.

Based on its fuse rating, Nords all use less than 30watts.

I recommend avoiding iForway. I couldn't find specifications for it online, making it impossible to evaluate its suitability to provide enough current at the AC output.

They list as working with anything up to 100W. However, they only carry a 6 month warranty and are supplied out of china. So if it breaks you'd likely have to send it back to china for repair.

You also haven't indicated what your intended purpose is?

How long does it need to power the Nord?
What else needs to be powered?
Why do you need to be battery powered?

Yeti 400!

Tried it out the other day... works wonderfully. Dead silent, awesome piece of gear. It's like a generator, but silent. And the battery lasts a long, long time. Awesome.

I use my Nord Stage 3 76key with an AIMTOM Portable Solar Generator, 42000mAh 155Wh Power Station.

I've been busking with it for 3 months with no issues at all. If I'm only plugging in the Nord, I end up getting around 15hrs of power.

Plugged in a power bar and managed to power the Nord and a Roland Cube amp for at least 5hrs.

There have been no noise issues in the sound due to the power being ungrounded, but when I put my head near to the actual keyboard in a very quiet environment, I can hear a quiet buzz coming from the keyboard itself.

Hello!
I need to purchase a generator or battery to play for 1 to 2 hours in the outdoors with no power. I have the Nord Grand and a JBL Eon One, which probably takes more power than the Nord. Any recommendations? Anything to look out for or avoid?

Not really. Most everyone goes with one of the many battery "power rigs" that you just plug into. The JBL will suck power, the keyboard not so much. Figuring out how much battery you need ends up being largely trial and error, so go bigger than you think you will need.
I think I have gear issues ....
