If you set the lower to something like 848000000, you have the bass with a little punch and on the upper part of the lower you get a nice comp setting. Try it.

Most bass lines on a real B3 are played with LH on the lower manual. Often the b flat pedal is “kicked” (tapped) with the foot to get extra attack on the bass line. Hardly anyone, including Jimmy Smith, primarily plays bass lines on pedals, except maybe for down-tempo songs or ballads.
