On my C2, not a B3, with the Last 2 octaves connected to the pedals drawbars....

I use it a lot when I am playing for myself.
And some like to mod their real Hammonds with the same feature.
So you can use f.ex 8680000 with chorus on lower manual for comping, and have bass on the lowest 2 octaves.
As we only can have 2 organs on a NS on the same time, you have to look for a sampled sound for the bass pedal simulation and split the manual in 3 sections, or split it in two, and use an external controller for one of the panels.

Sorry for my previous post, I didn't see that you have explained it better than me, so, I was thinking to do on a a Stage 3 what I do on my C2, thus saying at the beginning of the post that you have to use a Synth bass...
But I didn't know you could mod a real Hammond to do that, thanks for the info...

Yes, hence my question if there was a "B3+Bass" on the Stage 3, which is what the OP seems to be asking about as well (if I interpret the question right).
Since nobody seemed to answer that question I got curious and wanted to know the same thing.
To compare with the NE5 is natural since 1) it has "B3+Bass" and 2) I happen to have one..;)

So is there a way to make "B3+Bass" happen on a Stage 3?
By an actual "B3+Bass" setting (which I couldn't find in the S3 manual), or by layering or EQ:ing or similar, so to get the much more pronounced bass part like in the NE5 "B3+Bass"?

Don’t think so, I have not found any settings for it.
I had a view in Nords sample collections, but could not find any Hammond bass sample, so perhaps this could be my first test to make one.
I guess it should be made with Leslie on stop and no reverb?
Otherwise I think it would sound weird and with phasing issues if blended with the ongoing Leslie effect.

And to Quai34, sorry I had not read your first post carefully enough, we mean the same on how to do it.

Sure, I mean that on the NS3 you do have separate EQ for each panel so you can apply that to the Bass part only and try to enahnce it as desired. ;)

However I think that analogika provided the best explanation i.e. that on the real Hammond the wiring of the pedal drawbars includes more harmonics, so this must be taken into account too on NS3, while on NE5 it is emulated natively

I had an old Hammond BC where the bass went "all the way down". I gather Santana had their organ modified so it did the same thing. Should you require it, you can use a synth sine wave on the lower split. It's got such a low frequency, it doesn't "appear" in the sound, but merely boosts it. It is quite hammond unlike.

As an aside, the old Hammond BC had coil sprung keys which were totally unlike later organs and it was a total slag to play.

I would sample it from the NE5D with no effects at all (including no Leslie, which is different form Leslie on Stop). Then when you use your sampled B3 bass sound on the NS3, you put it through whatever rotary effect you're using for your native organ sound. I *think* you can do this by putting rotary effect on one panel that has your drawbar organ sound, and put your sampled B3 bass on the other panel, and put that through the rotary effect as well, with the same settings? I'm not sure, I've never tried putting an organ and a synth sound through the rotary at the same time. I know rotary routes sounds different from the other effects, can anyone confirm that this works? (I don't have access to my NS3 at the moment.) If this works, it would be a great solution for giving an NS3 owner most of what the missing "B3+Bass" feature brings to the Electro 5/6.

Unrelated to Hammond bass (i.e. pedal emulation), there's also the variable of foldback, whether or not low drawbars give you full low tones, or quieter versions of the tones an octave above.

I had an old Hammond C, grittiest sounding Hammond I've played, but the edges of the keys were sharp, it could hurt to do side swiping on it!

Which "Santana" keyboard generation? Rolie, Coster, Baker, Thompson, or Mathews?

Where did you hear about this?

Do you know how the mod works? Does it add extra tones, or add divide-down circuitry to the lowest existing tonewheels?

Bought my new Nord Stage 3 compact yesterday to replace my Nord Electro 5D for easy carry to rehearsals - Now I have to recreate my most used sounds on the Stage 3

- I recognized exactly the same as discussed in this thread - The excellent "B3 + Bass" I have on the Electro 5 - I love that sound - and we use it in my band - how can it be recreated in Nord Stage 3 - Is sampling as mentioned above the only solution ?

Well, almost kind of, left hand bass, fast little chops on the lower manual with right hand and back and forth to the upper for the solo/melody? I do that quite a lot when it's pure jazz/blues organ...

So how do you do that on a real B3?

Same thing.

On a real B3, the "left hand bass" is done with your feet!
