Well, almost kind of, left hand bass, fast little chops on the lower manual with right hand and back and forth to the upper for the solo/melody? I do that quite a lot when it's pure jazz/blues organ...

So how do you do that on a real B3?

Same thing.

Unless you add a foot to the equation..;)

Obviously.

Quai didn’t: Since he says his left hand is playing the bass, one of those two manuals is sharing the bass registration.

We don’t know about the OP, though.

But does the Stage 3 have the B3+Bass sound like the NE?
Which is what I assume OP is asking about(?)

The Bass part in B3+Bass is a lot heavier sounding than just using the first 2 drawbars on the regular B3 sound.

Well, most 2 manuals organ clones can do it, bass to lower manual, instead of using bass pedals.
I use it a lot when I am playing for myself.
And some like to mod their real Hammonds with the same feature.
So you can use f.ex 8680000 with chorus on lower manual for comping, and have bass on the lowest 2 octaves.
As we only can have 2 organs on a NS on the same time, you have to look for a sampled sound for the bass pedal simulation and split the manual in 3 sections, or split it in two, and use an external controller for one of the panels.

And that second drawbar (5 1/3) is important to get the bass to sound deeper, since it sort of fools the ear to think it´s sounding an octave lower.

Had to go try to make the pure "B3" sound as fat as the "B3+Bass" on my NE5.
There's no way to come even close (or I'm missing something critical in my testing).
The Bass part in "B3+Bass" is a steroid beast in comparison.

Did you try to apply some EQ to the Bass part?

On the NE5 I guess I only have EQ on the organ as a whole, not separate for upper/lower.

You’re right.

The B-3 pedal bass drawbars are actually wired up to all of the partials and are not merely equivalent to the first two drawbars on the manuals.

See section 2-22 of the Service Manual.
