Hey
Has anyone created a patch for Van Halen - When It's Love

Looking for that click over a synth patch.

Here's a quick shot at it for you to work on and tweak as needed. The program uses the OSC2 White Noise and the Mod Wheel will take it out. The original has more of a stick sound (thought it was the drummer at first with echo) so a sample on one panel and synth on other might be better. The click sound can be backed off by turning down the MODULATION Mod Env setting. Please post any refinements you make to the program or other programs you end up using for the song. Take care

WannitBBBad, that sounds amazing! Thank you! I've never played the song and had always been curious about that percussive attack combined with the synth sound. Your sound nails it quite well!

You're welcome Nordmutt2 and thanks for your comments ericL! I updated the program above to split the keyboard and place the percussive attack only on the upper split, and also posted a sample at LINK--> nord-user-samples-nsmp-samples-f14/van-halen-when-it-s-love-sample-t20968.html

Using the sample takes away certain flexibility but it also frees up a synth panel for other uses. Using the program above you can use the sample for one of the panels, or you can try out the program below where I added a guitar for the fun of it ("stock" Overland Guitar sample 137). Aftertouch takes the guitar up two octaves with vibrato for a little harmonic feedback effect.Take care.

I can't seem to be able to turn off completely the click. I played with Modulation/Mod Env but hear no change. Any help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

You're welcome! I played it this morning and I think what you might be hearing is the delay effect as the initial attack of the strings is being repeated. You can take that out completely by selecting the panel with the synth click, hold down the Morph Assign button for the Mod Wheel while turning the Delay Dry Wet knob to zero, and then saving the program. By doing this, the Mod Wheel will remove both the click and the delay effect. Good luck to you.
