Who uses 'Grand Lady D' today?

Post by ThePianist »

Reaching to see if Grand Lady D is still in use today as I couldn't find the XL version of it. Suggesting Nord PM to have this resampled with latest mics and provide XL size of it as well.

There have been quests for a new Lady D on the forum. Easy to find:
https://www.norduserforum.com/post171371.html : "am ACHING for an updated Lady D or other fantastic piano"
https://www.norduserforum.com/post171315.html : "asking for an updated Lady D or similar"
https://www.norduserforum.com/post171311.html : "Would have much preferred to see an updated Grand Lady D or a new Yamaha CFX"
https://www.norduserforum.com/post169283.html : "people have been saying for years that samples like the Grand Lady D and Studio Grand were among Clavia's best, and it would be great if they were available in XL size"

I arrived later to the party and got along without getting closer to the Lady D sphere. Even if it's a really nice sound - mainly for pianists.

In fact, I can't see how you are really longing for a new Lady D sample - your argumentation is towards the Steinway D model and its great action with long keys which control velocity in such a great way. Which has nothing to do with its sample. And you don't explain what you are really missing on the existing Lady D sound, as far as I understood your video. Why, in fact, did you mix it with the Soft Grand?

I hope I am not doing you wrong. You are definitely playing in a nice way.

Thanks Mr_-G. How can I delete the post and post this in its correct forum or the most relevant thread?

It is understandable that you may want to advertise your YT videos to increase revenue (or some other reason), but please understand that the forum is not the place to do it repeatedly. That is essentially SPAM.

You cannot delete your posts - they are part of the community. There are two things you can do: a) Delete the content so you get an empty message; b) ask the moderators for removal or relocation - you can use the Report button ("!").

Hi Mr_-G,

There are some assumptions made in that statement which are far from reality. I am in full agreement that I shouldn't open a new thread for a topic that's already been covered in a different thread, rather the best practices is to continue using the existing one. There's data available to the above and rather I see this as my contributions to the community regardless if I do it through a different media/form of communication. Labeling a post with a video contribution as spam, it is different to what the definition of spam is.

I'm absolutely for removing this dedicated thread and add my post to the existing ones, as long as I'm advised to which one should've been added to minding that when I looked for Lady D, I found 80 pages of posts as a return for that query.

I'm trying to be co-operative and respectful of the rules set out for the forum and I expect that to be mutual from the admins and moderators of the forum as well.

Thank you,
The Pianist

Thank you, FZiegler.

Yes, that's what I had in mind to move/relocate it to the right existing Thread. Which one do you reckon this should've been added to? Is it the latest one that has Lady D topic in the last posts or in the earliest, or simply go with the latest one in terms of date that contains Lady D in it?
