I am planning to use an IPAD with IK multimedia Hammond organ. I want this sound layered with piano from the Piano 4.
I managed to get the midi out to the IPAD in garage band (have purchased the Hammond software yet), but I have not figured how or if I can control the volume of the software on the IPAD. Ideally, I would like to use the synth section volume knob, or alternatively an expression pedal. Anything would be better than just having to use the volume buttons on the iPAD.
Any suggestions? Thank you.

Re: volume control of external sound
According to the manual, sample synth level knob sends out MIDI CC 43. On the b3X app, you can redefine master volume from CC7 to CC 43, so that should work (you may have to adjust the number by one, depending on whether each device is using 0-127 or 1-128). For other apps, you'd have to see if there's a comparable way to assign some non-standard CC to volume.
