[NO] Sustain issue

Postby Projet Xion » 05 Sep 2020, 10:27

Hi all,

I've received a few days ago my NP4 but unfortunately I noticed a big problem.

In the last 2 octaves, the piano sounds have always sustain on, even without pressing the pedal.

It occurs only with piano sounds, no problem with the synth sounds.

I have the last OS (2.50) and I've made a factory reset with no success... Any idea?

EDIT : exactly the same "problem" here :

Maybe it's normal ?

That’s normal for the upper two octaves, it’s the same with acoustic pianos like my KAWAI which does not sustain starting from G6 for the upper two octaves

Ok thank you very much guys for your quick answers.
It's a little bit surprising at first but if it's a normal behaviour I'm reassured.

Have you played or do you have access to an acoustic grand piano? You’ll find that range of keys doesn’t have dampers. Completely normal and part of the beauty of a piano! Enjoy!!

Yes I ever played acoustic pianos but I think it's more progressive on an acoustic piano.

On the NP4 the limit is really between 2 notes, depending which piaono sound we use.

Anyway it's a detail, this instrument is great!

It is not progressive at all on a real acoustic piano, simply the dampers are absent from a certain note up
