Setting up a Nord Piano (Newbie)

Postby Alex007 » 31 Mar 2019, 19:51

Hello, i'm a complete newbie. I just bought a Nord Piano. I'v got Denon (Mission) SC-M50 2 way 50 watt speakers. I want to connect them. I plan on getting better ones later. I'd like this to work for a while. Not really sure how to connect the speakers. Not sure if i can connect them directly, or what sort of wire to buy. Im assuming all i need is a wire. Thanks.

I’m not familiar with these speakers. If they have internal power then yes, you jus reconnect L to l and T to T and you should be good to go. If they aren’t powered, you will need some sort of amplifier for them. Good luck.

The Denon SCM50 are unpowered. They can handle 50 watts of external power, they have no internal power.

You can't connect them directly and get any sound out.

Here are you options?

a) get some headphones
b) use the same amplifier you use for your Denons, and buy/make a special cable 1/4" TR to RCA phone plug (mono). Give the specs of the Denon, I would prepare to be underwhelmed.
c) buy some purpose-built amplification for your nice Nord Piano!

Best of luck!
I think I have gear issues ....
