I can only hear the normal "hammer-to-string" sound of the keys no other sounds.

I’m having a similar issue with my new Grand. It’s not all keys, but quite a few.

Here's a video that I think captures the noise pretty well. D2 and D3 are the most obvious offenders on my board, so I sampled those and their neighboring keys for comparison. There should be a clear difference between the standard "thud" from hitting the key and the "rattling" I think the OP may be referencing. I would call it more of a "click," but it does sound like a rattle in some instances.

Having listened to this, I'd say there's nothing to worry about, my grand has similar sounds, it's the weighted mechanical action resonating with the case, maybe a touch of rubbing but to be honest that sounds normal. I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for your feedback Lew. These noises can’t be heard with headphones on, and it only stands out a bit over my monitors while I’m playing a quiet piece and utilizing the most offensive keys. I come from a synthesizer background (i.e. this is my first digital piano), and everything I’ve owned thus far has had some form of unwanted feedback in the form of clicks and squeaks of varying timbres. Granted, those keybeds aren’t tailored in the same way.

I definitely wouldn’t let it deter me from purchasing one. The action is the primary reason I settled on the Grand. After trying out every model on the floor at a few different music stores, I found nothing could compare.

I bought my Grand on Dec 2019 and recognise the same mechanical high frequency sound on more and more keys (every key I often use, the whole midrange). It is very annoying. Is there an solution therefore or should i return the Grand. Are there any news regarding this subject.

Squeaks and clicking sounds seem to be very common on Nords that use the Fatar keybeds - my Nord Stage 2EX had a few suspect keys not long after purchasing. It’s concerning to hear that the same thing is happening with the premium Kawai keybed too. I can’t help feeling that Nord should try to address this problem - it’s the one thing that would put me off buying another Nord in future.
