Problems with my piano 5 keybed

Post by Casey »

I have a very strange problem with my nord piano 5-73

When I play the low C_key the Lowest F key also sounds. The F-key has max velocity and the C-Key has a normal velocity curve.
I connected the piano with midi and there where no problems.
I seems like the keybed has some kind of error.
While holding the low F-key the C-Key sounds normal.

I will contact music store Germay for a service call.

Usually, when these kinds of problems are reported, it turns out to be a loose cable connector between keybed and main logic board. If you're comfortable opening up the unit, it may be a quick fix.
I think I have gear issues ....

Maybe it's easy to fix but if I were you I wouldn't do that : your unit is brand new, it would be a pity to lose your warranty.
You should call your retailer and ask for a replacement / reparation.

Update:
I return my Nord Piano 5 for repair to MusicStore Koln at the 2e of september.
At this moment it is still in repair and at MusicStore they don't know how long its going to take.
I also send a email to Nord without any response.
I'm very dissapointed, at this moment I have to improvise whit my old stuff, while the gigs are rising.
This is not what I expected from Nord.

I hope you will get it back soon. Curious what they will find.

I am thinking of buying a Nord 5 but the forum seems to be loaded with a lot of problems with this keyboard. I feel with a keyboard of this cost it should not have all these problems... Rethinking my purchase...

I'm right there with you, I don't know of any other keyboards that have my requirements though. I want something where I can play 2 piano sounds and 2 sample/synth sounds at once. 73 Keys and option to load own sounds.

Im very worried about the reported quality issues as you are.

Which is a bit bizarre for a brand that's in the pro market.
