I have a kawai mp7se with the RHIII keyboard, the same one used by Nord grand, the keyboard is only one and a half years old and I had to repair it 3 times for this reason, which comments on notes being fired, it is a well-known problem among kawai users mp7 and mp7se that kawai still can't find a solution for, I'm thinking of switching to nord grand but I'm very suspicious of its RH III keyboard.

Unfortunately, I do have the exact same problem with my Nord Grand.
In my case, it happens with different keys in the C4 area (during runs as well as soft chords).
It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed!

I’ll be contacting my dealer and have it looked at. I hope they are able to resolve the issue.
In case they can’t, I’m afraid I’ll be looking at other options (as in other brands).
This would be a pity, though, since I like the keybed/feel of the NG very much.

I feared :o :o !!! I just bought a nord grand a couple of days ago, it is used, I have no invoice, if this problem occurs, will Nord be in charge of the repair? I do not have an invoice for the purchase but it is evident that the model was still in warranty just a year ago. at the moment it works well, but the experience I had with the mp7se makes me afraid.

Not sure but I believe that the dealer who sold the Nord Grand originally in your country is in charge for warranty repairs, but you may need to have the invoice as a proof. Can you get the original invoice from the person who sold the Grand ?to you?

no, I bought the piano from a man who closed his instrument shop forever, after closing his business he had some instruments that he sold at a low price but without an invoice.

In all earnest, you got a presumably very good deal on an instrument(?), but accepted the risks that lies in buying it without an invoice(!), knowing that it will be hard to prove that you are the rightful owner with continued warranty.

So by taking that risk, you saved some money.

If the instrument then fails, you may have to pay for a repair, but could maybe still end up paying less than for a brand new instrument with full warranty - isn't that so?

Having said that, I think the risk of a failure isn't great. So until it really fails, just enjoy playing it :-)

I assumed my risk for not having an invoice, Nord will have to assume his loss of prestige in reliability.

I thought that maybe I would have to assume some small and isolated error in the first two years due to not having an invoice, but I never thought that such a premium piano could have a manufacturing problem so well known to everyone on the RHIII keyboard.

Kawai on his RHII and RHIII keyboards could not find a solution to this problem, for years he has been leading all his users, (including me with mp7 and mp7se in both cases with an invoice and having to sell both pianos for little money) was only question of time in the end they failed, I see that Nord in his improvement did not correct it, like kawai will be a question of time.

Baekgaard says to enjoy enjoying as long as it doesn't fail, but who can enjoy on stage knowing that at any moment a note can explode?

Although I don't have an invoice, I am a consumer of their products and if the N.G started to fail, I would be an annoying consumer with the Nord brand.
I think nord should analyze this problem well and solve it completely in all his NGs, and not treat it as occasional failures, make that mistake Kawai and now most pianists do not make that mark.

I do not want them to think that I enter the forum just to talk about the bad thing about the NG, it seems to me a fascinating piano, the best stage piano I have played !!!
But after reading those comments when I play for the highest octaves and my eyes can read "Kawai hammer action" I don't like a sweat drop sale and my hands are shaking. :shifty:

Did you contact Nord’s service partner in your country or Nord themselves, and did they reject your request for warranty repair?

As Schorsch says, if you're worried about having the instrument repaired IF it fails, try to contact your local Nord support organization in your country. Maybe they will fix it, or you could ask for the price of a repair.

At this point, I assume it works still? But if you're so worried about having a note stand out when you perform that you cannot play properly, maybe consider selling it again and then find another keyboard... Even if you could get it fixed under warranty, it wouldn't help on your worries, it seems?

Having to avoid all Fatar and Kawai actions of course means you're a bit limited. I would -- had I been in your situation -- consider also to avoid Roland and Yamaha actions, as I have had those fail me before... although I'm not sure what is left then :-)

Or alternatively hope that it won't fail anyway.

Best of luck to you!

BTW here in Europe, consumer laws forces the manufacturer to warrant their products, so a dealer that disappears won't impact your rights. But you still need to prove when you bought it and where.

I was about to buy the Nord Piano 4 but this kind of informarion scares me too!
Is there someone here who own a NP4 and didn't noticed any bug? I hope all units are not concerned...
Your comments are recent so not sure Nord has fixed the problem!
Now what about the other brands?
Maybe the Yamaha CP88 or other Korg SV-2 have bugs too.
