The only other tangible difference of course is having a 73 key version in NP5. I ended up picking up a NP4 for around half the price of a new NP5, so I'm very happy with that purchase.

Thank YOU for your heartfelt comment, I really appreciate that. Every now and then there's a keyboard that I review that I feel I MUST have (as opposed to just returning them after I've completed my reviews). The NP5 was a 'must have' for me!! I ordered mine in early July and hope to finally receive it in September/October. I'll be doing a video shortly about why its taking so long to get keyboards, pro audio, and many other products now.... as well as a "why I purchased an NP5" video once it arrives.

Hey PianoManChuck!

The pleasure is mine, and since patience is a virtue of which I have little, I made a bunch of phone calls the other day and found a large US dealer who may have the NP5 in a couple of weeks. I can’t share that info yet, but once I get mine I will be happy to share the source, although I am a bit skeptical that they’ll arrive that soon. I have purchased from this store before and they are reputable.

Ditto for me - PMC was a big reason for me getting the NP4 (that and the sales price) and since then I’ve added a NS3C and soon a NW2. I never really considered Nord until recently as I was never a huge Lead fan.

I was able to a buy used/damaged in transit NP4 for around $1500 after they partially refunded me, which is why I bought it (just needed a new wood end cheek for $100). Otherwise I probably would have looked closely at the NP5 73. The price was just too good to pass up. I then added a NE6 but it got damaged in shipping (come on vendors, double box please!) so I returned that and decided to get a Stage 3 compact. Therefore all the extra layers, etc. are really covered through the 2 boards for my use case.

Then…I had just bought an Argon8X when I found I could get a Wave 2 for a really good price, so I returned the Argon and the Wave should be coming today.

I haven’t really done any upgrades for years, and my intent is to start gigging again. So while it’s a substantial Nord investment it should last me for years, AND they hold their value well.

Wow, that’s pretty bad. I posted my rant in the General Nord forum as well as pictures. It’s crazy that despite “fragile” being on the box some workers for the carriers seem not to care. Reminds me of Jim Carrey at the beginning of Ace Ventura.

MarkJames, that was hilarious and so true. I kid you not, there was a footprint on the damaged box….right above the “fragile” sticker
