Hello everyone,
I'm a newcomer in this forum, so, sorry if my question was already answered. I did a quick check and couldn't find the information.

I have a Nord Stage EX since 2009, and after 13 years, I'm still very happy with it. Nevertheless, I'm not using the organ part a lot. And same for the Synth part. just time to time, I use synth pads additionally to the piano, or synth bass for the left hand. I don't want to spend some time to work on sounds, I prefer to pick sounds out of the box. I'm sometime frustrated to have no good electric or acoustic bass sounds in my Nord. And no good brass section, violins section. etc... It's not my main usage (Mainly I use piano or E. Pianos or clavinet), but sometime it's missing. It's why my assumption is that a Nord Piano 5 will be enough for me. Just the piano section + a sample section in case of need.
First question : is my assumption correct ?
Second question : I see on the Nord Website, the Nord Sample Library 3.0 is not compatible with the Nord Piano 5.0. Why ? Does it mean that a Nord Sample Library 4.0 should come soon for the NP5?

To answer your questions:

1) yes you are right, Nord Piano 5 will give you excellent pianos (one can debate on the quality of the Clavinets…) plus the sample synth capabilities

2) yes, Sample Library 4.0 is expected to be released at some point of time, in fact it is already available in a hidden space but not complete yet, Nord is still adding samples to it. However, you can use Nord Manager to load samples in the “old” .nsmp format into the Piano 5, Sound Manager converts them into .nsmp4 on the fly since v7.60

This is helpful. Actually I also found some pages "nord-sample-library-40" in the Nord website and it was increasing my confusion!

Unfortunately, the Nord Soundmanager does not convert the Nord sample bank 3.0
to 4.0.
The north piano 5 immediately gives an error message...wrong format.

That’s correct - and that’s why I mentioned “.nsmp “ samples, not “.nsmp3” …
