More questions about the Nord Piano 5 - just considering getting it so I don't have the manual, so forgive me if the answers are obvious.
-can I set up a split where part of the keyboard is just piano and part of the keyboard is piano + a sample synth?
-can you set up two split points at one time ie. part of the keyboard is strings, part of it is piano, part of it is piano + sample synth?
-with an expression pedal can you fade in and out a layer ie. a sample synth?

YES.

NO, you can only set one split point.
See the manual: "When a KB SPLIT (Keyboard Split) is active the keyboard is divided into two zones, allowing for a variety of split and layered configurations. Layers are assigned to the lower and upper sides of the split point by using the KB Split LO and UP settings in the Piano and Sample Synth sections."

YES.
Btw, here is the manual for the NP5: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... on%20D.pdf

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll read through the manual as well, but as I'm still learning all the Nord / keyboard language it can be tricky to understand what's possible until the instrument is in front of you

Re: Nord Piano 5 Layering capabilities
Yes, always check the manual for the basics but not everything is always in the manual. One pleasant surprise I found with the NP5 -- several of the "lead solo" voices can be quite useful in context. No negatives otherwise -- very fun board to play!
I think I have gear issues ....
