I ve ordered a nord piano 4 mainly for stage use and secondly for some recordings.
A)Did anyone had already bought it and can describe his/her experience?
B)Did i made the right decision? What about the other models?
Congrats on your new keyboard!
In had various keyboards before getting a Nord. Once I got my first Nord I never looked backed and don't really consider other brands now. I've had NP3, NP4, now the Grand. I absolutely enjoyed them all the NP4 is amazing and the it's action is great. I moved to the grand for the Kawai keybed. I only play in home so I like that the Np4 and Grand have options geared to homes, wood stands, brackets for monitors, etc.
I think you made a great choice. You could get a grand but would be a little more weight and bulk to move around. If you do consider other models I would highly suggest other models being some sort of Nord. haha
I am looking to buy a premium stage piano and I narrowed it down for 2 possible choices, the NP4 and Yamaha CP-88. Do you think that NP4 is worth the price difference? The lack of pitch bend is really annoying me I already own a Hammond SK1-73 so I don't need the Stage model.
you are saying that the lack of pitch bend at the Nord Piano is annoying you - what is the primary usage you want to buy it for? The Nord Piano is very much focused on Piano playing with the ability to add some other sample sounds to enrich the piano performance, but still a Piano centric instrument. If you are looking for something more focused on other sounds than Piano you may find the Nord Stage 3 much more appropriate to your needs, did you consider this as well?
Pitch bend is useful when playing synths and samples, not so much elsewhere. If you see yourself playing a lot of synths and samples, neither the NP4 nor the CP88 will be ideal as your primary keyboard, as they are weighted for piano work.
My current gigging set up is a NP4 below for weighted instruments, NS3C above for organs, synths and samples. It's a bit of overkill, as the NP4 is functioning as nothing more than an expensive MIDI controller. As a standalone instrument, the NP4 gets plenty of use for smaller acoustic gigs where I'm going for a more intimate sound.
One of the many appealing aspects of Nords is that they work well together when used in combination: similar control layouts, common voices and samples, MIDI just works, etc. Not to mention that they look great on stage!
