Nord Piano 2 compatibility with Macbook Pro M1 (through usb)

Postby kapa9 » 15 Feb 2022, 19:33

Hi there. I don't owe a nord piano2 88 HA, but am willing to buy one. I did not find anything on internet on this topic, nor on this forum. I have a macbook pro 2020 with m1 chip, running Big Sur. My question: Is Nord Piano 2 compatible with my Mac as I cannot check it personally? Can I use it as midi keyboard through USB cable with Logic/Mainstage? I know the last OS update for it is from 2019. Can anyone tell me? Does Nord Sound Manager work with NP2 on M1 chip?

thanks in advance.

Hi, Nord Piano 2 is USB MIDI Class Compliant (driverless) so it is compatible with Mac OS by definition and also NSM is compatible as you can read here post150444.html#p150444

Why should it? The keyboard doesn't know or mind what's inside the computer, maybe it affects the software but seems NSM works (and don't forget that Mac OS on M1 uses the Rosetta2 for compatibility with the Intel platform)
