Nord Grand top panel and accessories

Postby Fritz Frigursson » 08 Jan 2021, 15:15

What's the biggest thing you can comfortably put on top of the Nord Grand? I thought about putting a MacBook Pro on it but I think the space may be too small. Can you put a small synth or aux keyboard on it?

Also does anyone have experience with the Nord EX keyboard stand? I think it looks great but maybe some people have had problems.

Ciao Fritz,
I tried with an old MacBook Pro (should be a 13'') and it fits alright. In the photo you can see the furthest I could push it towards the wall while still being stable (--> stable meaning that lifting a bit the front part of the computer won't make it immediately fall down behind).
Of course this MBP is very old and therefore the body is rather heavy with respect to the screen, so it could be that newer MBPs might need to stay a bit more in front than mine.
Anyway the same test worked for a Lenovo e485 (which is also a bit heavy though).

I have the Nord monitors attached so at the moment I can't place my Roland RS-70 on it to try stability.
The top panel is 163 mm deep, so I think that small synths should be no problem.

Hope these infos can help you!
