I’m fortunate to live only five miles away from a piano store that stocks Bösendorfer, Fazioli, Yamaha, Kawai (and its Shigeru variant)... and Nord and Dexibel.

I recently auditioned a Dexi Vivo S9 (their current flagship) alongside an NP4 and S388. I suppose it depends on what you’re looking for in piano tone. The S9 weighted action is very nice (given that weight also becomes a portability factor)... but I really didn’t find the Dexi pianos to be “second-to-none”.

Personally, as good as the Dexibel is, I prefer the Nord Grand action. Compared the Dexibel and Kawai MP11SE before I bought the Grand. What I really like is the responsiveness of the keybed. However, take my info with a grain of salt. I actually really like the Fatar TP40L I have in my Kurzweil Forte. Not nearly as good as the Nord Grand, however.

That looks great, Frank!

Are you getting any lateral movement from the stand on the carpet? That stand does get good reviews.

What's your take on the sound and action? Any issues or dislikes with the Kawai action? I am happy that they supplied the rubber footrest with the pedal, to keep it from moving around as much.

Give us a review and your thoughts!

Great looking set up man.

How do you like the rubber pad attached to the foot pedals Frank? I haven't attached mine yet.

I purchased the K & M stand through Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016N ... UTF8&psc=1
All three reviews were five stars so I took a chance. It's heavier than I anticipated and very sturdy. Absolutely no movement on the carpet. The simple look and design appeals to me personally not to mention the color. As far as the Kawai action: I think I just got use to the Piano 3 so action was never really an issue for me. However, the Grand action does seem closer to that of my acoustic grand. It's smooth and has just the right resistance. More significant for me is the layout of the controls. Much easier to use. Having them on the same plane as the keys was ok but tilting them up is perfect. The sound from the Nord speakers is a pleasant surprise. The sound is not so much like that of a speaker. But more like what is heard from an actual (my) acoustic grand. It's different from what I'm used to and I like it. I do have the mounting brackets but I want to try foam speaker pads before using them.

The rubber pad attached to the pedal assembly is helpful. For me, my heal rests on the pad while using the pedals so my heal tends to keep the pedal assembly from moving.
