I, also, don't give two figs for a mono piano.

Is there something you don’t like about the mono implementation on the Nord itself (I have the NP3)? Playing live with a Bose L1 (mono) it sounds fantastic. Recording obviously must be in stereo....

What do you wish were different?

Simple. I just want a piano that sounds good on a single speaker so i dont have to carry two to practice (Yamaha DXR10).

Also, on plenty gigs, it's simply not possible to go stereo, especially for monitoring.

Also, there are countless threads with questions (most without a real answer) like:
- "which AP is ok for mono" or
- "I have switched to Yamaha XXX because the Nord AP sucks when used in mono" or
- "I have tried the mono button, but I think it's better (but still not good) to just connect the L&R to my active speaker" or
- "I just don't play AP when going mono, I use Rhodes for those occasions"

So, I am pretty sure a good mono AP is what a lot of people really need.

Come on, we have an abundance of stereo AP in the Nord library.

Yes. I like it. A lot so far. It has that funkier/smaller string sound in the bass register and is very bright. I think it will cut through a live mix nicely. I have the P3 so I ended up downsizing some of my other XL samples to the L size to create space for the XL White.

Now how about an XL Lady D or Ravenscroft? :-)

I don't think, taht the next one will be Steinway again. Ravenscroft also no - IMO isn't so popular.
I vote for concert grand of Bechstein or possibly Yamaha CFX but nord piano library already have 4 Yamahas and 4 Steinways, so I vote for Bechstein as a next one grand.

Side note - 3 out of 4 Steinways are model D, 2 of them being sampled from the same piano at different positions. There still isn't an XL model D. I'm thrilled about the new Steinway B white grand, cannot wait to try it.

I’ve mentioned before I usually play my P3 through a mono Bose L1 system for live playing. I’ve always thought the mono implementation to be pretty good. The new White piano however is so great, I’m wondering if they’ve done something different to make it work better in mono than other samples. To be perfectly frank, now Royal, Velvet, and Silver sound un-stellar in mono (though great in stereo) while White is by far the best in mono (and just delicious in stereo), Lady D works well, Imperial does too. But White makes the others sound a tad lamer in mono because it’s so good. Is anyone aware of anything they’ve done different with this sample on that front? I’m starting to wonder if a library of mono versions of these samples is a good idea for mono playback as was suggested earlier?
