New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
Hello
I just saw that there is a modified version Rev.B of the Piano 5.
Some control buttons have been added.
My question is, are these functions also possible in the first Piano 5 version.
Possibly via a double button combination???

Re: New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
If I understood this correctly, it is much like synth pitch bend range on Stage 3. No hardware label for this function on older hardware revisions, but any Stage 3 can run a newer firmware, and access the function.
Piano 5 should be no different. All Piano 5's can run the same software, and access the same functions.
(correct me if I'm wrong)

Re: New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
As firmware it should be OK, but if Rev A. is missing that button there must be some alternate way to access the new function (like Shift + existing buttons)
Btw the new Voice button is now mentioned on the last release of NP5 manual (OS version: 1.2x Edition: D), but I see no reference on how to handle it on Rev. A, in the past (e.g. when NS2 Rev B was released) they used to issue and Addendum for Rev. A users to explain how to access the new features... hope they will do the same for NP5 Rev. A soon

Re: New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
I find it very irritating when manufacturers do hardware changes on what is basically the same instrument. Now I don't have the latest Nord Piano 5. I have the one without the extra button.Jusrgen wrote:Hello

But anyhow, you don't have a Piano 4B or the like. In my eyes, the Piano 5 is an absolutely innovative approach that you got as one of the first owners.

I forgive them. I've been very happy with it. Hopefully they'll add the same functionality through button combos to Rev.A.FZiegler wrote:Totally understandable.dcjams wrote:I find it very irritating when manufacturers do hardware changes on what is basically the same instrument. Re: New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
After a few years playing my Nord Piano 4, I'm about to buy a NP 5 next week. Now I just discovered the New Rev B model...
I was wondering: isn't that 'vibrato' knob, being just underneath the main volume knob, badly positioned? Looks to me it can be pushed quite easily by accident...
If it does, I still might go for the Rev A Version...
Thanks for sharing your opinion/experience!

Re: New Nord Piano 5 Rev .B
Nobody noticed, but there is also another addition on the Nord Piano 5 revision B which is particularly interesting, it is the compressor dedicated to the piano section, and it is exactly the same as the one that the found on the Nord Stage 4. It's really a good and not insignificant novelty.
