I thought the low end was lacking as well, so I added the Audio Pro Addon Subwoofer. Audio Pro makes the Nord Piano Monitors, so color aside it's a perfect match.

That seems like a logical solution. I didn't think of it. Wish now I would have given it a shot.

I use the iLoud Micro Monitors with my Nord Grand and have recently added a small subwoofer (Sub Mini by Fostex). I have tested Yamaha's HS8, Adam T7V, JBL 305P MKII and KSC 8.2 side by side, adding a mixer with 4 variable EQs in the process as I didn't like any of the boxes in the first round - except for the iLouds, much to my surprise. After my alas amateurish EQing I still preferred the iLouds although I found them a bit top heavy and "flat". I found adding a sub (I admittedly chose a laughable small one due to transportation issues) would improve the overall sound. I also tested the Nord Piano Monitors in several stores and found them to differ in quality. One unit was dull, another pleasing. Still they lacked detail esp. for the lower piano sounds, too much bass and too little complexity.

For gigs I use my old Yamaha Stage Pas 300 from 2002ish, either as stand-alone or as monitors. Still some of the best small and flexible systems I have seen so far (besides it features a 6 CH mixer). It's not studio sound quality but more than adequate.

Hi, how is the Yamaha HS8 in general how good is the sound there? because https://downhomedigital.net/home-subwoo ... ubwoofers/ they recommend it, but I read controversial reviews about the HS8 ..
