Yes, obviously. It's comments like this:

But honestly a digital interface today, I just about expect to be able to say the name of a patch and have it come up, or a set of matches to choose from. There should be a keypad to type the name and have it auto-completing as I type, like searching on my TV or laptop. Scrolling through a linear list seems highly antiquated.
display a complete lack of understanding of the product, which is specuifically designed to be uncomplicated and stage optimised. But here is the root of the OP's problem:

No research, and R the F M mate!
My comments are not about comparing the NG to anything else. I'm holding it up against the general state of UI design of the times. In that sense it's archaic. As far as being stage optimized, I'm at a loss at how the points I've brought up lend anything at all to stage optimization:
-Change a patch and the knobs are now all at meaningless places so when you touch one, the setting jumps to who knows where.
-Want to get quickly from the A11 to E50, what do you do other than four quick turns of the knob to get to E11, then spin spin spin 'til you get to E50, while you're mid-song or even between songs and need to get from here to there?
-Try to turn the PROB knob while playing with your right hand, and you can't see the screen to know what you're doing.
Often the best insights into design problems come from people with more of a blank slate as far as how bad all the other interfaces are. If you're a software designer, you need people who don't know anything about the software to test it to see how well it's really working. I don't give a whatever how bad other interfaces are. I also don't think the next comparable piano is twice the price. Kawai certainly holds its own and some prefer it. Not the point really at all. The interface for the NG could be MUCH better. That' my main point. Nothing about any other keyboard.
