Cello on NP5

Post by Azetof »

Hi Folks,

Thanks to some valuable information on this board that helped me decide I purchased a NP5 - and am incredibly happy with it, not only the immense upgrade from my Roland Fp10, but also it being my first Nord Instrument, I feel that it is the tool/"toy" /device that brings me an amount of "object-related joy" I haven't felt since my childhood, if you know what I mean.

One thing I am missing is a cello sample/sound, comparable to those available in the sample library 3.0..

Anybody who understands the sample editor better than me already created a nsmp4 file containing a (solo, classical, analog) cello and is willing to share or point me in the direction on where to find one?

I downloaded https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/solo-cello-spurs/ (free download if you create an account there) and tried importing it, it kinda works but it just doesn't sound right.. Which is definitely due to me not fully understanding the sample editor ;)

Thanks for your help!

Hi, have you tried to search for cello samples on https://nordusersounds.com/sounds? NSM should convert user-created samples to v4 (there are a few discussions about it, including the NSM 7.7 bug, so for v3 you have to rename the .nsmp3 file to .nsmp, but then it works)

Didn´t know about the (simple) "renaming-trick" - Thank you so much, am already playing around with a great sounding cello
