I found a bug in the Nord Piano 5 piano engine.
When playing a combination of several notes, one of the notes doesn't play for its full length and doesn't ring as much when it is first pressed.
I've made a MIDI recording that reproduces the issue. I've also demonstrated the lack of the issue when using Pianoteq to play the same MIDI. I've run a frequency analysis on both audio files to show this issue visually. Please see all my files attached.
Specifically, the problem is with the G note above middle C. It is played right after an F, and right before a chord. Even though the G is held for about a second, the Nord Piano 5 stops playing the G very soon after it's pressed. This is very visible in the frequency analysis. Although, there is notably something funny going on with the G note one octave lower that is played shortly after.

Hi, as you joined only recently, I'd like to mention the security issue we have with your ZIP file. You maybe won't get that many responses.

Which security issue?
I haven't encountered any security issue on my computer with the ZIP file, but I also don't have an answer to the problem ....

I don't open ZIP files from unknown sources. Which klopyrev is for me at the moment - sorry for that! The same with DOC or some other formats.

Re: Bug in Nord Piano 5 piano engine
I see - so that's not a security issue per se but your personal decision to not open it due to your personal security concerns.
Your comment was a bit misleading as it imposed a general security issue with this ZIP file.

FZiegler, I thought the same thing when I looked at this. I won't open ZIP files from unknown sources as well.

.. which is perfectly fine and reasonable, it just sounded to me from FZiegler's post as if there was a general issue with this specific ZIP file. I always have such files inspected by security software before opening it, and this one here did not create any warnings on my computer so I opened it after that.
So yes, better to post the 5 files individually again

Indeed, I should be more trusting of the security software on my laptop as well.

Re: Bug in Nord Piano 5 piano engine
Sorry, didn't mean to blame anyone. It was meant to be a hint to klopyrev. Shouldn't have said 'issue with _your_ ZIP file'. I'm probably too lazy to use an online multi antivirus scanner just to understand a problem someone has in a forum.

Hello, my first impression was how different the piano sounds with Pianoteq playing the MIDI file; was the same piano sample used for both audio files? The frequency analysis is illustrating some of that difference (cool tool); comparing the two images, I also noticed that the frequencies just above the first G note aren't as present when the MIDI file is played. Perhaps it's my hearing, but I'm not able to pick out the drop that you mention - I think if I was physically playing the passage I might pick up the disconnect between what I expect to hear versus what's there. I'm sorry to not be much help on the matter. Regarding the sound difference, I would be interested to know if a different piano sample was used for the MIDI playback, and if not, have you tried to adjust the parameters of the tool to get the playback to sound closer to the performance? Good luck to you.
