I connected the Nord Piano 3 to an installation of Pianotech software via the USB cable. I find that the controls on the Nord do not affect the software, such as Octave shift. The Nord Piano 3 is replacing a Roland A80 which just passed on. The A80 shifted octaves on the software via MIDI with the touch of a button.
How can the Nord 3 provide the same service? Is the shortcoming an affect of using USB instead of MIDI wiring? Are the commands not being sent for some reason?
Since the piano keys are transmitted it is not some basic wiring issue, or driver concern.

Re: Midi Control
The octave controls on the NP3 (Piano section I guess you mean) affect only that generator, but on MIDI it will alwqys send teh “true” notes. In general, consider that NP3 is not intended as a Midi Master keyboard i.e. it has only a few basic featurs in that respect.
PS: I hardly understand the need for shifting octave when using a 88 keys master on a virtual piano (unless it is just for trying those Bosendorfer lower notes...?)
