I will repeat myself - so what that NL4 is few years old?? Look at the Access Virus...
Access can provide new filters for TI series after a few years so why Nord can't (or don't want to) develope NL4 (it's just the sofware at the end, no need to redesign hardware).

Re: Updates A1 & L4
I like the Virus architecture and I also hope Nord does take note of its superior integration with DAWs. My wishlist for the A2 is OLEDs everywhere and don't mess up what's there, just give us more.

In fact I would be happy with an A1 without the (in some aspects highly stupid) limits like the global vobrato settings, the fixed upper/lower system, the fixed keyranges for upper/lower, individual pitch stick settings and so on.
There's no fixed keyranges or picth stick settings in the A1. They can be edited and saved as part of a performance.
Of course there is. A/B are fixed to lower, C/D are fixed to upper and they share the same keyrange. I would like to have just free 4 keyranges, or at least having 3 parts on upper or lower and one part on the other range.

Re: Updates A1 & L4
I believe we could see more updates, but those would be mostly bug fixes rather than upgrades. I personally don't think Nord has ever added an important feature via an update. Most updates have been slight improvements at most.

They could use a blinking or dimmed LED to indicate a different filter.

I also don't think we will see anything new here. The racks are alrready discontinued...

Re: Updates A1 & L4
The Nord Lead 1 (and 2, which used parts of the same code) had a "hidden" notch filter via a shift function where all three filter LED's lit up. It was quite a useful filter for me. It was not mentioned in the press release at the time, nor the manual. It was considered an Easter Egg along with Pelle's Mode. Things like that seems unlikely to happen nowadays.

Actually the LeadA1 and especially the Lead 4 benefited from very substantial upgrades, that introduced wholly new features (more polyphony on the A1, lots of improvements and new features on the 4) and even required a minor update on the front panel (the multi focus feature that was added to the 4, by pressing shift+keyb tracking)
But I suspect most of those updates were planned in advance, that is they released a kind of "beta" OS, and later brought the features to their full potential.

Yes, Spider, that's very consistent with current software releases; the first one's essentially the last beta that sort of kinda works and then there's a mandatory update that follows pretty shortly. Apple does the same thing with OS X and iOS.
