Program Change

Post by ventura »

Hello all,

I'm having a problem with Program change messages, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

I send a program change message from Cubase to my Lead 4 (I'm always in performance mode). The thing is that the performance shown in the screen of the keyboard changes, but the sound doestn't.

For example, I'm on performance A.01 and send a program change message to change to A.02. The screen of the Nord now shows A.02 but the sound is still that of the A.01 performance.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Well, without further details, my only guess would be to check the channel assignments of your slots and global channel, and then check the channel you're sending the program change and the notes on to be sure you're playing the right slot and changing the program on the right slot. Slot mutes and keyboard assignment might also be causing you confusion.

Make sure you are not sending conflicting messages, like 2 different program change commands to the instrument from 2 different tracks in Cubase. (Don't know Cubase terminology, but you get the point?)
