I have bought Nord Rack 2X - I am very happy it sounds really good.
But my problem is that volume is quite low.
1) I have master volume and gain on maximum level on Nord.
2) I am M-Audio 610 user. I am usinng for Nord link inputs 3,4. I have faders in my software panel on maximum.
Please, don't you know where can be problem? Is it for example possible to increase output level on Nord?
Thank you very much,
Tomas

Re: problems with output level on nord
Hello Tomas and welcome to the forum :)
I don't have much experience with the Nord leads/racks. But my Nord Stage also had a very low output level. I think it might be a problem with all Nord products, but I'm not sure.
Som people say that you can use a stereo-jack to dual-mono-jack and plug it in the headphone output. That should increase the output level I think.
Otherwise you might need to buy something to amplify the signal.
Does anyone els have any advice???

Re: problems with output level on nord
what about the gain of your mixer? just lift it up so you geht more power to the signal?!

Yeah I do that myself with my Nord Stage. I just still feel the output level is too low. Compared to other keyboards the output level is much lower from my experience. I always need to crank the volume almost all the way up on mixers to get the volume I need.

I have heard this before, I think it was in a Keyboard magazine review. I do not think this issue exists in the newer boards, NE3, Nord Wave, and NS 2-

I haven't tried any of those personally, so I hope you're right :). I should get my NS2 soon though, so I'll be able to check it out. It would be great to have the output at a more normal level.

Re: problems with output level on nord
I had the same issue when connecting my Nord Lead 2X to my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. I had to connect it to an input with a mic pre-amp and use that to get the sound to usable levels. My Blofeld gave me the same issue.
As it turned out, in my case it was caused by using stereo cables to connect the synths to my interface. The interface was expecting a balanced connection because I was using a 1/4" TRS plug (stereo). When I switched to a cable with 1/4" TS plugs (mono), the problem went away and the levels were as they should be. With my Virus it worked okay with both types of cables, but that was because it can either send a balancer or unbalanced (line-in) signal, based on the type of plug you plugged into the synth.
