PCMCIA Cards available in the US

Postby daveholiday » 21 Oct 2016, 19:51

Hello all,

This comes up frequently so I though I would add this information.

I recently ordered a PCMCIA card from Amtron Technology Inc. They were out of stock on a 256KB card so they sent a 512KB card instead. Both are overkill, but I don't care at this point. The 512KB formatted and seems to work just fine in my Nord Rack 1. The card cost me about $54.00 USD shipped and arrived in a couple days.

www.amtron.com

Card details: Pretec 256KB SRAM PC Card (with 8KB attribute memory) P/N S65256 *what they sent me was P/N S65512 same specs twice the memory.

Hope this helps those searching for a PCMCIA card source!

Dave

I was wondering about those, good to know they work in the Nord Rack.

Help for a serious newbie to this? Is that the 8-bit or 16-bit data transfer version? I've been a Nord Electro player for a long time now (and absolutely love it), but am new to my Nord Rack 2 and would love to be able to create and save sounds. I think I'm on the right track starting with a card, right? Thanks!

I'm also not sure which version it is, maybe someone here can answer that?
