North Rack 2 factory patch reset

Post by andyweil »

Hi I'm new here so forgive me for asking seemingly obvious questions.

I've just bought a North Rack 2 with manual Version 2.x
So I've spent all evening listening to sounds and reading the manual
I'ts obvious that previous owner changed all patches so I want to get the Factory Presets.

I've read the page 101-108 and also 35. I can not find anywhere a true reset of the Factory Patches.

Mostly with digital equipment one has a possibility to reset Factory Settings/Presets by holding down a certain button while powering up said gear.

Also I have a second question,

How do I allocate different sounds to any of the 4 outputs

It would be really great if someone would help me with these problems

cheers

Welcome to the Forum !
You can download the factory settings on this page :http://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-libr ... ory-sounds There are also instructions how to get these files
into your machine ! I guess the Rack 2 is compatible with the Lead 2 !
Succes !!

Each slot on the NR2 has an independent audio routing setting. This is discussed in detail in the manual.

Hi all

I am new to the forum although being a member for a while, I to would like to reset my Rack 2, I have carried out the steps above using SysEx Librarian, Im not sure I'm doing it correctly, how do you know they've been transferred across correctly and do you have to erase the settings and programmes on the rack 2 before you can transfer the factory content across?

Its not very well documented I don't think although I have only been trying to sort this out this morning

@garyoconnorDJ

I have a Nord Lead 2 and all I do is drag all the library files (midi files) I want to audition or load into my DAW (Logic) and then select which bank to install them to and then just press play. Make sure your DAW is set to pass sysex and you should see the patch numbers on the Nord count up as they are transferred. If you've modified some patches already and want to keep them then put your DAW into record (making sure your channel numbers are set correctly on the DAW and Nord) and Bulk Dump from the Nord before you upload anything.

The manual is available @ https://www.nordkeyboards.com/ so best to familiarise yourself with it prior to overwriting anything.

This way you can easily transfer and backup custom patches and patch banks made by others to decide what you want to keep on your Nord. The same method applies for single patches - just choose the preset slot and transfer. I've got a couple of these to expand my user presets even further than the limited 40 onboard user slots - Pretec PCMCIA 256kb 8-bit SRAM Memory Card with Attribute Pn: S65256-8. If you're in Australia find vic.sds on Ebay, he's in Victoria.
