Just wanted to add my voice that I will not purchase a Nord Lead 5 (should one be released) unless it is a rackmount/desktop version, or unless the keyboard has extensive MIDI controller capabilities. I am very happy with Nord Lead 4R, and use the patch morph buttons frequently.
As for things remaining in stock after they go out of production - one can still find new DSI Tetras and Mophos though they were discontinued about a year ago.

Yes, and for a while now. Prices have dropped significantly which could have triggered the idea of phasing them out well.
At several retailers the keyboard and module Leads are gone. Perhaps its just that Nord adjusted their distribution channel strategy and pricing at the same tine by only supplying certain, large, retailers for Leads.

I wonder what Clavia will surprise us with as far as Synths go, at Winter NAMM 2017 ?

An 8-channel Nord Wave Drum 4 with Impulse Pattern Morph would be cool

Re: Nord Lead 4r/A1r discontinued?
For NAMM , Probably an NS3 (see General thread) with a display as on the Electro's. Perhaps a P4 with a display and that new key-bed they cancelled on the P3. Don't expect anything else really exiting. But that would be good news for Lead's so that their prices perhaps keep falling when Clavia obtains their expected ROI. Just adding a display on the Lead and bump up the cost significantly isn't that nteresting. The Lead 2X/rack was 699 euro for it's last few years in retail and the NLA1R/NL4R should not have much different hardware inside compared to the NL2X.

Nord Lead 4r: a good complement to Stage 2 EX?
Hi
This is my first time here at the Nord forum. I have a question/doubt I would be thankful if you guys would help me: next week I am going to buy a Stage 2 EX88; however meanwhile I happen to find a good opportunity to buy NordLead4 rack at half price. My question is: is nordlead4r a good plus beyond what Stage 2 will offer me or everything nordlead4r has I found already at Stage 2EX?
Thank you very much for your time.
Regards

Nord Lead 4(r) is quite different from the Synth section of the NS2 EX and much more powerful at least as a Virtual Analog (but it can use no samples, so it is a "pure VA synth").
I suggest you to read carefully the NL4 specs and its manual from Nord website, watch Youtube demos and then finlly you should ask yourself the question: "even if the price is attractive, do I need a pure VA with the sound and capabilities such as the NL4 in my setup and for the type music I want to do"?
