Nord's classical Virtual Analog Synth Nord LEAD 1/2/2x/3/4/A1 and Nord Rack versions

Re: Nord Lead A1 Keybed

Hey, there really is a TP/9s in the Novation SL 49 MkII. I swapped it and it is fully compatible. A pleasure! :keyboard: The velocity is so much more controllable. Finally the synth is really usable for me :)
And it doesn't look like a frankenstein synth, I think. Take a look for yourself and form your own opinion! The keys stick out a bit, but I personally don't mind that at all!
Thanks for your support :thanks:
If someone is interested, I can write a tutorial ;)
Cheers, Moped2000

Wow, nice job! Yes please, over the years there has been so much talk about the cheap TP7 keybed of the Lead series, and now and then somebody talks of upgrading it. And as mentioned, I once saw a used L2X on offer which had a TP/9 action, but that was the only evidence I ever saw that the upgrade could be done, apart from that it was only forum gossip with no real bases.
If you could post a short tutorial it would be great for future reference, thanks!

Nice, thank you! The only thing I haven't clear is the part about bending upwards the panel...or even shaving off a part of the keybed! Why is that necessary? Is the TP/9 a few mms taller than the TP/7?

Great! The keybed was the main reason I got rid of the A1. :)

Hi!

Just got an almost brand new Nordlead 2X, and so far, I love it! It's my first hardware synth and just wanted something to dive in subtractive synthesis. Love the sound, and having lots of fun with stomp boxes. But the keybed... feels really bad to me.

I'm wondering if this mod by Moped2000 will work on my 2X.

Thank you!

Yep, the Lead 2x has the same keybed as the A1, TP/7BA, which is essentially the same as on the A1, except it is many years old. The least expensive keybed made by Fatar.
