Nord 2 Rack Midi Problem Help Appreciated

Postby acitone » 27 Jan 2019, 23:02

Hi

I have a Nord Rack 2 but I continually have problems when I hook it up to my DAW (Ableton). It sends out loads of random midi messages and crashes ableton frequently. I have tried different midi leads/midi to usb leads but this makes no difference. I have been running it through the mystery islands vst (And I can see various parameters fluctuation as midi comes our from release etc) but even when I use it just through external instrument I still see random midi information coming through and effecting other devices vsts etc.

Can anyone help me please as it is rendering the nord rack unusable. I am by no means an expert with hardware but have not experienced any similar problems with the other synths I use.

Thanks for any help in advance it is really appreciated as i have been stuck like this for some time!
Cheers
Gez

that instrument is ~20 years old...dirty pots are causing this...cleaning or replacing them should cure the problem

You can try using software like midi-ox together with midi yoke to filter midi messages, if you can't solve the hardware problems.
