But sometimes I'm playing a LH pad on the A1, and RH is on another board. In this case it's convenient to use an expression pedal.

AFAIK, the wheel and the pedal can't be used as independent morph controllers on one slot. But to solve the problem you're envisaging, you have a lot of possibilities using multiple slots. Eg, copy slot 1 to slot 2 and set up a different set of morph parameters on slot 2. Or use the morph wheel to control a set of parameters, and manually control others using the dedicated front panel controllers.

One more question (as I don't own an expression pedal), does the nla1 treat both the wheel and expression as the same source?
or would I need to edit all programs and rewire the morph from the wheel to the expr pedal?
thanks!

Yes. Anything set up to morph with the wheel will also morph with the control pedal
