The last couple of times I have played my A1 at band practice it works fine for a while then the the problem appears. I play a chord or phrase and remove my fingers from the keys and the sound continues. I don’t have a sustain pedal connected but I do have a dual channel Boss Control pedal connected to the A1 and my Stage 3. The A1 is not connected to anything via MIDI. As I’m typing this I’m wondering if the fault is Program related so need to do some testing to rule that out. I use the A1 in Performance for simplicity in a live playing Environment.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
Thanks
Dave

Which pedal model is it exactly and what is it connected to on A1 and NS3?
PS: check also the Release knob of your AMP Env on A1 is working fine, if faulty it may jump to its max value while you play.

Re: Lead A1 problem (MIDI off message?)
Hi,
The pedal is a Boss EV30 Expression Pedal and it’s connected to the control jack on the Stage3 and the Control Jack on the A1. I’ll check my Amp Env Release control to ensure it’s working properly.

Yes, unless you connected by mistake the EV30 to the Sustain jack of the A1, that's the thing I'd check.

Re: Lead A1 problem (MIDI off message?)
Thanks Maxpiano,
I accept that the A1 will g onto permanent sustain if I Plug the expression pedal into the Sustain Socket. The A1 has gone into permanent sustain on 2 occasions a week apart. I can’t believe I pushed the expression pedal in wrong twice. I’ve tested the EV30 on the A1 today and can’t make it sustain. I had a look at the menu settings for the pedal under the system menu and it was set to EV5 so I thought I’d try and switch it to EV7 model setting and see what happens. Seems to work OK so far. I like to use the pedal for morphing on the A1 and Stage 3. I usually morph between piano and synth (eg strings) on the Stage 3, but on the A1 I like to morph filter cutoff and many other parameters to change the sound without using my hands which are normally too busy playing live.

Re: Lead A1 problem (MIDI off message?)
Yes sure, I made that statement as a thing that can happen, in general (not necessarily your case) and, in case Sustain is set to a type like "normally open", if you connect an Exp pedal to the Sustain jack and push it all the way down, the resistance between Tip and Sleeve of its TRS jack is 0 = "closed" = engage sustain
What about the Amp Env Release knob, all fine with it?
