how to produce these moog sounds in an A1

Postby Mipendorf » 22 Nov 2019, 00:24

Hey Folks,

Can any of you help me figure out how to program this sound using an A1? It's coming from a Moog (or 2).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBAJP-3ebDA

This whole video and record is incredible, but the sounds I'm asking about occur around 4:15-4:35 or so.

BTW, I have an Electro 6D 73, and am borrowing a friend's A1. I might buy it from her, but am still just scratching the surface on how to program it. BTW - can anyone recommend a good starting place for video tutorials on programming it? I had a Roland Jx-8p 30 years ago, but haven't done any programming since then with anything more modern.

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Yes, it's two Moogs (a Mini and a Little Phatty) playing a similar sound simultaneously in an interval.
The sound itself isn't "complicated", I've just tried a quick setting:

Take a saw wave (no. 3), use a slight detune (006)
Mono mode, unison 1, glide 0-1
Vibrato: Wheel
Filter: LP M, Frequency on about 4, resonance 0 or max 1
Filter ENV: attack 2-3, decay 5, release 2-3
Filter mode envamt 3
Amp ENV: attack 2, decay 10, release 2-3
Add a bit of reverb

... and that's quite a good start point :)

You could copy the sound to a second slot and detune it there in a fifth, so you could play both synths with one.

Cool - thank you. I’ll try these settings when I get home next week.
