First Nord Rack (?) User Manual & Shift Button?
Hello,
I bought a Nord Rack --- the 'first' one, I assume, as manuals for the 2 do not correspond.
I've searched high and low on the web and cannot find a user manual anywhere.
The biggest reason I need the manual is that I cannot figure out how to access all the Shift functions, since
there is no Shift button!
Even if someone could enlighten me as to what hidden button combination accesses the Shift functions, I'd
greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Hi, the manual for the Rack is the same as the Lead's.

Hello perian
and first of all a very warm welcome to this wonderful forum of nord enthusiasts. You‘ll always get great help and tips here, I‘m sure. As far as your question is concerned there is one upright button below the grey main panel which has the word SHIFT printed below it. This is the Shift button, even if one could think that this word should better have been printed above the button. The one with LFO1, 2 etc. right of it.
Sunny regards from Germany

There are differences between my unit and the illustrations in the manual (Shift and Panic buttons, etc.), so I assumed there was another manual I couldn't find.

I am not familiar with the Lead/Rack, but it's possible that different hardware revisions came along during the years and the pictures in the manual haven't kept track of such changes. This is true for the Stage 3 for example, even though the present manual, illustration-wise, seems to be pretty much aligned with the latest iteration of the Stage 3 panel.perian wrote: There are differences between my unit and the illustrations in the manual (Shift and Panic buttons, etc.), so I assumed there was another manual I couldn't find.

Right. Well, I'm all set now, and I may well be the last Rack 1 user you ever hear from again anyway
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Glad to hear you found it. Sometimes a photo can help. Do you know you can add photos here with the FULL EDITOR button below and UPLOAD ATTACHMENT then? I‘d still be interested in seeing your exact front panel to get a feeling what version you may have.
Cheers
