A1: INIT SOUND, raw synth sound like it's gliding...

Post by ianpatrickroe »

Hi guys,

When I INIT SOUND (so reset to just a raw default sound on Nord lead A1, I hold down a single not and it sound likes it's sort of opening up, and gliding up and down with a very minor filter, or something. is this normal? Surely this single note I play on the keyboards should be very static with no movement at all? Is there something wrong with my Nord Lead A1?

If I understand, you mean when you:
press shift-init sound - you see Ini flashing
press shift init sound again (or execute) to make it happen
?

When I do this, I get an initialised sawtooth osc, osc config=Pit, filter=LP24. All filter settings, envelopes, LFO etc are initialised to 0 (or 10 depending on the function, eg LP filter freq = 10). I get a pure sawtooth tone. Nothing which could cause a variation in the tone is enabled.

A couple of questions:
Are you in program or performance mode? If in performance mode, this function only initialise the active slot, so if the performance has other slots, you'll still hear their original stuff.

What happens if you navigate to a program which is already initialised? Does it also do weirdass things?

No downstream effect pedals etc?
