Very strange thing - this is on an Electro 4

Postby eddie1261 » 18 Apr 2019, 19:16

Suddenly, when I press the sustain pedal, it triggers the Leslie effect, but does not sustain. I tested the pedal on 8 other patches. This only happens on the B3 patches. I am running OS 1.22 and a sustain pedal that worked for the last 6 weeks of rehearsal. Suddenly 2 nights ago, no sustain, but Leslie trigger. Yet that pedal works as sustain for piano and string patches.

Any ideas?

EDIT: 15 minutes later, the weirdness gets weirder. If I plug a 1/4" cable into the rotary port, the sustain pedal works as it is supposed to. Now,m I have a box that I built to put a switch up n the deck so I can trigger that rotary with a big red button, much easier to engage than looking for the right button, and when that is plugged in, both work as they should. I have NO idea!! I just know that until rehearsal 2 nights ago, I could use that foot pedal for sustain and use the rotary speaker trigger. Now that pedal is suddenly triggering the rotary no matter which port it's plugged into. AND... I took my hand made switch off but left the 1/4" plug in the rotary input jack on the back, and the pedal works for sustain. So, apparently this keyboard is possessed and demands that a plug be inserted into the rotary jack. The seance is at 10 tonight.

Somehow or another, the Sustain Pedal mode (System menu) was changed to “rt”. Change it back to “SU’, and all should be well...
