Use Nord sounds as VSTs?

Postby deesnay » 01 Sep 2020, 14:51

Hi,
I own a Nord Electro 5, and I was wondering:
Is there a way to load a sound from the NE5 as a VST, for use with a DAW?
For example, if I like this NE5 piano sound and I want to use it in my DAW, I would add some VST and load the piano sound.

I'm aware I can connect my NE5 to my computer and therefore play any NE5 sound from my DAW.
But I assume it's only one sound at a time.
Besides, it requires my NE5 to be next to my computer (which is usually not the case), and connect it by midi/USB + audio.
So I'd rather load the NE5 sounds I need to my computer, and then somehow load them into my DAW via a VST.
I don't know if I'm being clear...?
Any idea?

You cannot load a Nord sound as a VST. You could sample a Nord sound (using apps like SampleRobot for example), and load that result as a VST, but it will not be exactly the same in sound/behavior. Some of the Nord sounds were produced in cojunction with Sampletekk, so you might want to see if Sampletekk offers a VST version of any Nord sound you'd like to have available as a VST.
