update process failing

Postby Porto_05 » 05 Dec 2018, 14:12

hai, I just purchased a Nord Electro 5d yesterday. Model from 2015, cheaper because teher already is a newer model available, but brand new> Nord itself advises to immediately check for the newest OS available; so that's what i am doing right now. To no avail, since simply nothing happens! The instrument does go into update mode, on the computer screen it says: Rebooting to update mode and than evryting freezes. Not the computer itself; but nothing else happens. The instument still is in update mode and that's all!! (After more than half an hour at least) Anyone had any suggestions?

Which computer OS are you using, Windows or Mac? If you use Windows, have you installed the latest Clavia USB Drivers?

This can happen if the computer drops the connection to the NE5 while it reboots.

When it happens, it usually works if you stop the updater on your computer and just start it again. It will detect the NE5 is in update mode and start to do the actual update. When the NE5 again reboots, the update program may again hang, but the update has been done, and the NE5 is probably at this time already up and running the new OS.
