Sustain Pedal "Jack" Nord Electro 5HD
I have a Nord Electro 5HD and use a Nord sustain Pedal. The sustain pedal function is inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it inverts operation and sometimes it works perfectly all of this without any configuration changes. To make it work, I unplug and replug, wiggle the 1/4 connector, turn off and on until it finally operates correctly. I've taken it in in for service/repair and I think they just re-soldered the 1/4" jack. I think I've got an internal cracked board. Thoughts?

How is the setting for the pedal type in the system settings?

Yes I've tried Roland, and Yamaha with the same results. Its a physical issue because I can rotate the male end jack when its in the sustain input and get varying results.

And you are sure it's not because you set the pedal recognition to AUTO? It might help for the moment to set it to open or closed instead.

It's more likely the jack itself is dirty, oxidized, or damaged: There's a number of threads on cleaning and replacement:chipnelson wrote: Its a physical issue because I can rotate the male end jack when its in the sustain input and get varying results.

The Shop installed a new jack and it didn't fixt the problem. " It might help for the moment to set it to open or closed instead." I'll try this next

Update. The problem as I described was accurate. The problem turned out to be the Switchcraft Jack's contact was worn out. I ordered the part online and replaced it on the main board. $12 fix. The service shop did not replace the old jack just cleaned it.
